Recommended First Steps
Begin Your Total Life Energy™ Journey
If you are new to Total Life Energy™, you do not need to learn everything at once.
The best place to begin is with a clear understanding of the basic principles—and then gradually put those principles into practice.
Total Life Energy is not simply a collection of exercises, foods, or health recommendations.
It is a way of understanding Nature, Life Energy, your body, and daily life so that you can learn to care for your health in a way that fits your own changing condition.
A Simple Path to Begin
Learn → Practice → Observe → Adjust → Continue
There are two recommended first steps:
1. Read Total Life Energy Plan
2. Begin Life Energy Exercise™ practice
These two steps complement each other.
The book helps you understand the principles.
The exercises help you begin experiencing those principles through your own body.
Step 1 — Read Total Life Energy Plan
Build Your Foundation
The book Total Life Energy Plan provides the deeper education behind the Total Life Energy approach.
It begins with the larger world of the universe and Nature, then brings those principles into the human body and everyday life.
You will learn to look at:
Nature → Life Energy → Human Body → Individual Body → Food → Daily Life → Health
The purpose is not simply to give you another set of instructions to follow.
It is to help you understand the principles deeply enough that you can begin applying them to your own body, your own food, and your own daily life.
From this understanding, you can gradually develop your own way of caring for your health.
Step 2 — Begin Life Energy Exercise™
Apply What You Learn Through Practice
Understanding is important, but health is also experienced through the body.
Life Energy Exercise™ provides practical ways to work with your body’s Life Energy.
The TLE approach includes three forms of qigong practice:
- Standing Meditation — utilizing the body’s inborn ability to absorb and flow Life Energy;
- Longevity Qigong — gathering and conserving Life Energy, especially in the Dantian;
- Steelman Qigong — encouraging the flow of Life Energy throughout the body to help maintain balance and support healing.
Each exercise is designed for the whole body and the coordination and balance among its different parts.
The goal is not to force the body.
It is to learn how to practice appropriately according to your own condition.
Learn From Your Own Body
As you begin practicing, remember that your body is not exactly the same every day.
Your condition can change with:
- your energy level;
- food;
- activity;
- rest;
- emotions;
- environment;
- seasonal changes;
- age;
- and other aspects of daily life.
Therefore, learning TLE is not about following a rigid routine forever.
It is about learning to observe your body and adjust appropriately.
Your practice may change as your condition changes.
Your way of eating may change.
Your daily routine may change.
This is part of learning how to care for yourself.
The Next Step
Once you have begun learning and practicing, you can explore the broader TLE approach to self-health and healing.
